Introduction to Art Night

Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) is the region’s pre-eminent financial hub, offering companies based within the Centre a world-class infrastructure that’s has created an idea environment for both business and leisure.

Art has always been an integral part of the DIFC framework, with the Centre serving for a number of local, regional and international artists and galleries. With over 1,000 companies and more than 15,000 individuals, the Centre has firmly bridged the relationship between the arts and finance.

DIFC also continues to engage with the wider community through individuals such as Art Nights – a series of events taking place at DIFC Gate Village, combining elements of art, music, film and design.

Through a joint-venture partnership, DIFC played an instrumental role in launching Art Dubai, makingمن خلال  it one of the most widely-acclaimed art fairs in the region.

Contemporary Art Galleries

Contemporary art galleries are often established together in urban centers, eg Gate Village in DIFC. Most large urban areas have several galleries, and most towns will be home to at least one. However, they may also be found in small communities, and remote areas where artists congregate, eg. Al Serkal Venue in Al Qouz. Contemporary art galleries are usually free and open to the public, however some are semi-private, more exclusive and by appointment only.

Customization to Generalization

Target audience has changed, it used to be just the art community but now it’s about public integration through introducing common facilities such, live music, coffee shops, open space, outdoor seating. Galleries are now more social than cultural. As a result this not only takes the target audience into a transition from customization to generalization, this also starts to introduce the idea of an open mall of art.

لقد تغير الجمهور المستهدف، كان عليه ان يكون مجتمع فني ولكن الان حان التكامل العام من خلال ادخال مرافق مشتركة من هذا القبيل، الموسيقى الحية، والمقاهي، والفضاء المفتوح و أماكن للجلوس في الهواء الطلق. المعارض الان أصبحت الان اجتماعية اكثر من ثقافية وبناء على ذلك ينتقل الجمهور المستهدف من التخصيص إلى التعميم. ومن هنا نستنتج تعريفا جديدا لفكرة المركز التجاري المفتوح للفن
