BIOGRAPHY

Award-winning architect and an urban planner based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I am Saudi born, Syrian origin and Dubai Based. I hold a master’s degree in urban planning with Honors and a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, both from the American University of Sharjah.

Throughout my master’s thesis, I have investigated how water management, an aspect of urbanism, related to environmental problems (e.g., Climate Change, sea level rise, loss of natural resources and of biodiversity, etc.) globally, nationally (UAE), and locally (Abu Dhabi) and applied best practices to the project’s site to deal sustainability with those elements in an eco-district development. Since my master’s graduation, I have participated with her research paper at various reputable conference in the regions such as:
• UAE Graduate Students Research Conference (UAEGSRC2021) by UAE Ministry of Education & Khalifa University.
• Fifth Arab Women Engineers Forum by UAE Society of Engineers.
• 23rd Gulf Engineering Forum: The Engineer and Disasters’ Challenges by Oman Society of Engineers.
• The Sixth Arab Virtual Forum for Arab Experts under the Title (Towards Low Carbon Arab Cities).
• Bawtaqah Research Centre for Urbanism and Architecture (Weekly Bawtaqah Forum).

I have 15 years of experience in design and delivery of master planning, urban planning, and architecture such as residential, education, hospitality, and retail projects in the UAE, KSA, Qatar, and North Africa working for reputable international architecture and master planning firms in the region.

I am a volunteer at the American University of Sharjah since (2018 – ongoing) as the alumni representative of the College of Architecture, Art and Design – helping bring AUS CAAD Alumni closer together, give back to the community and make a difference.

I am a university guest critique and keynote speaker (2018 – ongoing) at various architecture and design studios in the region such as Canadian University of Dubai, American University of Dubai, and American University of Sharjah.
